The Association of Power Biologists (APB), founded in 1959, is a professional, non-profit scientific organization dedicated to the advancement of industry biologists through the networking and sharing of information. Members of this organization meet annually to share professional experience regarding the balance between power generation and conservation of aquatic and terrestrial resources.

The principles of the Association are:
  1. To render maximum service to the power production and distribution industry through the application and practice of fish and wildlife science in accordance with the highest biological principles.
  2. To encourage the employment of qualified practicing biologists with power companies.
  3. To assemble and disseminate information of value to the membership.
  4. To promote understanding and cooperation between fish and wildlife agencies and power producers.

The primary mission of this organization is to assemble and disseminate information to practicing utility biologists in order to promote understanding and cooperation with regulatory agencies.
